Lounge Module – for returnable containers – 58 litres

Designed for indoor use, this bin has a capacity of 58 liters per compartment. Its opening is 4″ in diameter, allowing only returnable containers to be inserted. It is designed and manufactured in Quebec.

MODULAR SYSTEM – The modular design of the MultiPlus allows it to evolve with the ongoing recovery program, by adding or grouping material categories. Each module is completely independent and can be attached to the others.

Each module is front-loading, but the materials are deposited through the openings located on the top (choice of opening: slotted, round, square). A rubber border around the opening makes the product safer.

MATERIAL – The construction material is sheet steel with 50% recycled content and is recyclable at the end of its life. The sheet steel is finished with electrostatic paint (baked paint) for long-lasting durability. The bin uses 18-gauge sheet steel, except for the bottom, which is 14-gauge. 58-liter (23 US gal) plastic liners are inserted inside each compartment. 26″ x 36″ bags can be used inside each liner. The liners, which have a lip at the top, are made of plastic with 35% recycled content. Their proper insertion into the compartment is facilitated by two guides attached to the bottom.

DIMENSIONS – The external dimensions of a module are 34 cm or 13.4″ (wide) x 42 cm or 16.5″ (long) x 83 cm or 32.7″ (high).

FRONT DOOR – The opening on the front of each compartment is a 12.7″ x 27.9″ door, secured with a full-height stainless steel piano hinge. The hinge positioning allows the door to open fully.

The doors stay closed with magnets, and an optional lock prevents unauthorized access. A recessed handle makes opening the door easy.

CASTERS – The quiet 2″ diameter rubber casters make it easy to move the unit, even when full of materials.

CLASP (optional) – A clasp is available as an option and can be installed on all openings.

DISPLAY (optional) – For display purposes, the use of 3M vinyl stickers with a Teflon finish makes it easy to change the posters as needed. The adhesive used is suitable for metal and electrostatic paint, so it is just difficult enough to remove the stickers (preventing breakage by users), while still allowing their removal in the event that they need to be changed.

This type of sticker and glue have proven effective on Montreal metro bins, where passengers may be tempted to tear off the sticker. Experience shows that removal is too difficult, which discourages passengers, but it is still possible for the team responsible for replacing posters.

Vinyl stickers are coated with Teflon to ensure durability and prevent wear. Vinyl makes the stickers difficult to tear and is easily washable.
